Recreation Updates Related to Coronavirus

 Casitas Municipal Water District (District) is monitoring the Coronavirus Outbreak (COVID-19) situation closely and taking reasonable precautionary measures to protect the health and safety of our staff and citizens. Health officials indicate that individuals should consider strategies limiting exposure to this communicable disease such as decreasing social contact.

 In light of current advisories related to large group gatherings, the District is cancelling the Community Appreciation/Kids Fishing Day that was scheduled for April 4, 2020.

 Should you choose to postpone or cancel your camping visit, per our policy, credit vouchers and refunds will be made. Please contact for assistance or call our guest services staff at: 805-649-2233 x 113, 112 or 124 any day.

Please Register here for Kids Fishing Day at Lake Casitas Customer Appreciation Day!  To Register, click the register button and select how many children you are bringing in the "Buying Tickets" section. After entering the number of children, press Register again. Then just follow the next easy steps. Once you have registered online, you will receive an e-mail within a week advising you what colored armband and time slot your child or children are assigned to catch a fish.  On the day of the event, you and your child or children need to check-in at the registration table that will be located at the top of the Santa Ana Boat Launch Ramp near the bait shop.  The parent or guardian will tell the registration staff the name of the person who registered the children.  The registered children will then receive a colored wristband with their name on it.  Only children who are registered will receive an armband.  If you have already registered and later want to add another child before the event, you may start a new registration but send an email to Ranger Ozuna at to add an additional child to an already existing registration. If you do not receive a response within 2 days, you may also contact Park Ranger Ozuna @ (805)535-9015. On the day of the event, only 1 adult may accompany the registered child or children onto the dock. The adult accompanying the children will be given a wristband for access to the dock.  Any other adults with your group are more than welcome to take pictures from the ramp area at the fishing docks. Registration Check-in will open at 8:00 am and will remain open for the entire event.   If your fishing time block is later in the morning or afternoon, you may check in closer to your fishing time.   We will be having Same Day Registration, which those who register on the day of the event will fish during the last time block only ( 3:15- 4:30pm). Children ages 0-17 can participate in this event. Any person who is 16 years of age or older must possess a valid sport fishing license when taking any fish in California ( Fish and Wildlife Code Section 7145). 

In addition, this event is Customer Appreciation Day and there will be no park entrance fee!  This fun filled day is absolutely FREE!!! Below are the scheduled time blocks which will be color coded with armbands and the registered child's name.

8:00 am - Registration Check-in to receive color coded armband for assigned fishing time. The registration booth will be open for the entire event for those who registered online and those who register on the day of the event.  Those who register on the day of the event will only be permitted to fish the last scheduled hour
