Public Notice: Algae treatment at Lake Casitas
Casitas Municipal Water District intends to apply algae control products to Lake Casitas during summer and fall of 2019. The purpose for using these products is to reduce algae growth in the lake. Excessive algae growth can lead to treatment plant operational issues, tastes and odors in the finished water, and contribute to formation of disinfection by-products. The potential products to be used include PAK 27 (active ingredient hydrogen peroxide) or Cutrine Plus (a liquid copper based chelated product). No water use restrictions or precautions are anticipated during or after treatment. This notification will be updated if a treatment is scheduled to take place. If you have any questions please call Jordan Switzer, Water Quality Supervisor, at (805) 649-2251 x 120.
