The District awarded a contract to Oilfield Electric and Motor for electrical upgrades at the Rincon Pump Plant. This facility pumps water from the District’s Water Filtration Plant to customers along Casitas Pass Road west of Lake Casitas and the beach areas of Rincon, Mussel Shoals, La Conchita, Faria and Solimar. The upgrades will improve the efficiency of the facility and bring it into current code compliance. The project includes: expansion of the existing Rincon Pump Plant control room; installation of new switchgear and connecting it to the existing systems; installation of new underground conduits from the transformer to the new switchgear per Southern California Edison requirements; and installation of a low voltage panel. Oilfield is currently excavating for the building addition and has ordered major equipment. Construction of the building addition is expected to be complete in November 2019. Electrical equipment will be installed December 2019-January 2020.
