Sunset Pl (Ojai) Water Outage

Post Date:10/08/2019

Outage, Sunset, OWS

Dear Ojai Customers –

Casitas Municipal Water District is performing a scheduled shutdown on Sunset Place of the Ojai Water System and water will be unavailable from Thursday-Friday, October 10-11, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and also on Thursday October 17, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please check the outage map to see when you might be impacted by the shutdown.

The operation of valves may cause colored water. Air may also be entrapped during re-pressurization which may cause "burping" at your faucet and/or give the water a "milky" appearance. This does not affect the sanitary condition of the water. If you experience either of these conditions, it is recommended you flush your service line from an outside hose-bib followed by flushing the cold-water taps from your house faucets.

A disinfectant residual is maintained to protect the distribution system against potential contamination. Casitas conducts bacteriological sampling and testing following all shutdowns and prior to placing a new water main into service to ensure the sanitary integrity of the water is maintained.

Individual customer service lines will be switched over to the new main line between Monday, October 14 and Wednesday, October 16, which will also result in a brief interruption to water service. The Contractor will advise each customer when the tie-over will take place by personal contact, and will notify when the tie-over is complete.

Thank you for your patience during these important system upgrades. Our goal is to provide reliable, safe drinking water to our customers. If you have any questions or concerns, please call us at 805.649.2251.
