Starting Monday, August 17, 2026, Highway 192 between Shepard Mesa Road and Highway 150 will be fully closed from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  for pipeline construction. Detour signs will be posted. We appreciate the public's understanding while we near completion of this portion of the work.

The Ventura-Santa Barbara Counties Intertie will connect Casitas and Carpinteria Valley Water District and enable each agency to provide water to the other during emergencies. The project also allows Casitas to access State Water Project water as an alternative water source. In addition to the pipeline, there will be two booster pump stations and other pipeline improvements. State and federal grants and loans were awarded to Casitas totalling $45M.
